HEARTLAND ROCKER COMES TO SAVE YOUR SOUL, THIS THURSDAY AT DOSEY DOE
MONDAY JULY 10TH - Keeton Coffman and his band of rock and roll revivalists headline the acoustically spectacular Dosey Doe this Thursday, July 13th. With a mission of high-volume hope and a setlist of soul stirring sing-alongs—the Houston native uses rhythm and melody to remind us all what we’re reaching for.
Heartland Rock and Roll best describes the wide-ranging style of Killer Eyes, Coffman’s first full-length album. Pub song "What We’re Reaching For" keeps your heels stomping, tracks “Ellie" and "Killer Eyes" evoke memories of dancehall favorites, and “The Mountain” is dripping with gospel influences. Keeton's newest project fuses the small town Texas sound he was raised in with the knuckle and grit of his rock and roll soul.
A seasoned performer, Coffman clearly feels at home on stage. The invisible scars of a blue collar songwriter sets him apart and serves him well as he lives and breathes his music. “As a songwriter, the greatest blessing is that people find themselves in your songs. That's what this record is about. It's really for them," says Coffman.
On stage, you can’t miss Coffman’s lifelong influences Bruce Springsteen and The Wallflowers—enhanced with his love for the sonics of Motown and Phil Spector’s Wall Of Sound. His performances are often compared to current personal favorites like Dwight Yoakum, Foy Vance, Ryan Adams, and Texas native David Ramirez.
“These shows at The Big Barn (Dosey Doe) have become like family gatherings for the band and our fans here in Houston… loud, lots of laughs, and an infectious energy.” Keeton’s first show at Dosey Doe’s Music Cafe was a near sellout—an extraordinary feat for a local Houston songwriter. Now held at The Big Barn—known as one of the greatest listening rooms in the country with headliners like Vince Gill and Wynonna Judd—Keeton’s audience is growing like a rock and roll revival.
Keeton Coffman takes the stage at Dosey Doe at 8:30pm on July 13th. Tickets are $12 and on sale now at www.doseydoe.com
