The Story

There's always struggle, and there's always hope.

“I love these songs because you can hear the hope in them, but you can feel the weight of the circumstances, too.” That tension, never one without the other, is the whole engine of Hard Times.

It traces back to an old Alvarez guitar found behind stacks of Motown and '70s records in his mother's closet. Through Texas bus rides, a band called The 71s, and a Springsteen-esque grasp on the beauty that only lives in grit. This record is both a reintroduction and a return for an artist who's pushed through plenty of starts and stops, and has never been anything but exactly who he is.

Now, for the first time, those ten songs get pressed to vinyl, and the earliest fans get the only signed, numbered, print-bundled copies that will ever exist.

No. Every order includes an instant digital download, so you can listen right away. The record itself ships once the pressing is complete.

Is there a shipping cost?

Not in the US. Shipping is free. The price you see is the price you pay.

How do the signed and print copies work?

First come, first served. The first 50 orders get a signed & numbered record plus a physical lyric print and a physical photograph print. The first 100 get a signed & numbered record. Every copy includes the full core package. Same $35, and the perks reward ordering early.

When will I get it?

This is a pre-order, so the record ships after the pressing is finished, typically a few weeks after the window closes. Your digital download arrives immediately, and you'll get an email the moment copies are on the way.
